Description:

Let's make a journal out of trash!

All parts of the journal should be made out of things you would ordinarily throw away.

Here are some examples

*Junk mail *Grocery bags *Food/product packaging *Magazines *Catalogs "Paper scraps from other projects (if you do any kind of paper crafts, you will have these) *Cloth/lace scraps *Packaging paper *Used bubble envelopes

Not allowed

Full pages of scrapbook paper, notebook paper, digital printouts, copy paper

Minimum size 9" by 6"

One signature, 48 pages. This is 12 sheets of paper folded. You can sew them in or use elastic, like in a traveler journal. No need to use "trash" to bind, put extra points if you do! If you want to make a bigger journal with more signatures, go for it!

Soft or hard cover, sender's choice, but the cover must be decorated. No theme is required, sender's choice.

Sewing machines, eyelets, brads, etc., are allowed. Decorating with paint, markers, texture paste, ink pads, embossing folders, and die-cutting machines is allowed.

Ephemera(journal cards, tags, etc) is not required but appreciated. If you receive a journal with extras, please give a heart.

Extra points if you include a short(or not so short, lol) letter telling a bit about your choices, or explaining anything unusual you use. For example, if you use old shoe laces for binding, or a bottle cap for mark making. I have access to items from work that are trash that I will be using, but they may not look like trash to others, so I will be expalining that in my letter.

This is a long swap time to give everyone who doesn't hoard trash but wants to participate time to gather supplies.

Postage on something like this will be on the high side. Every post office seems to have different rules on how they charge, so keep this in mind before signing up. If you cannot afford to spend at least $10 to ship, please do not join this swap.

Have fun, be creative, and don't forget to rate!
